Summary
Operate plant equipment as directed in accordance with manufacture guidelines and specifications. Follow rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures. Consistently produce a premium product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review orders with production team to determine material requirements and specifications for the production order.
- Set machine adjustments and operate machines to mix concrete and produce product according to specifications.
- Inspect products to ensure quality requirements are met and products are free from inconsistent or abnormal appearances. Remove products that do not meet QC standards.
- Perform adjustments, repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned and as is necessary.
- Assist in rebuilding mold boxes and other wearing parts.
- Ensure all safety devices are in place and in working order throughout the plant.
- Operate the forklift as needed wherever needed.
- Maintain the block machine area clean and organized.
- Perform daily cleaning in the work area and on equipment as needed.
- Assist QC team in maintaining a consistent high-quality product through measurements, weighing, gathering samples, and performing and documenting tests as needed.
- Additional duties and responsibilities related to the manufacturing process may be required on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

Qualifications / Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Previous experience in block plant is helpful.
- Must have mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical aptitude.
- Experience operating construction machinery or equipment.
- Previous experience in a Production based environment.
- Previous experience in leading a team.

Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for prolonged periods; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- The employee is required to climb stairs and ladders, working at an elevation.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds to shoulder height and infrequent lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Must have agility to maintain balance on equipment or block piles.
- Must lift, place and set block.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
